Throughout this resource, fingerings refer to written pitch.
The main keys are shown graphically, using the following symbols:

Additional keys are shown through letters:
- Footjoint keys:
- D^ (D up) D#, C, C# and B
- RH keys:
- F#^ (F sharp up)
- LH keys:
- C^ (C up), C#^ (C sharp up)
- Thumb keys:
- Bb, Bb^ (B flat up), B and B^ (B up)
These additional keys are only shown if the keys are closed, and are shaded grey if trilled.
