Timbral trills
A timbral trill (bisbigliando) is a trill between two notes of the same pitch. The fingering chart gives the simplest fingerings for each pitch, while the fingerings given in the Alternate Fingerings Chart or Harmonics Fingering Chart can also be used as extra fingering options, for different timbral inflections. The extra keys on the Kingma System alto flute enable more timbral trills to be executed than on a standard flute.

Notation
Timbral trills may be notated either using the term bisbig. or timbral with a trill symbol, or by specifying the fingering to be used.
